Does my child need to be potty-trained to attend?

Yes, with minimal accidents. We require children to be potty trained as we will have an outdoor composting toilet and students will need to be able to use on their own, (teacher supervised from a safe distance). In the event of a potty accident, we calmly and discreetly assist the child to a private area, providing reassurance to minimize embarrassment. The child is helped to clean up and change into fresh clothes, with soiled clothing placed in a sealed bag to be sent home. Affected areas are immediately sanitized to maintain hygiene. Parents are discreetly informed about the incident, and the event is documented confidentially. Regular reminders and monitoring help prevent accidents, and all staff are trained to handle these situations with sensitivity and respect.

Bathroom and Changing Policy:

Children are given privacy, but staff stay nearby in case help is needed.

If assistance is required:

  • Staff will inform another adult.

  • Only staff with background checks will assist.

  • Staff treat children with respect and maintain their dignity at all times.

Changing Clothes

Parents must send a full change of clothes each day.

If a child has an accident or gets wet:

  • A trained staff member helps them change in a private but safe location.

  • Staff wear gloves and follow hygiene procedures.

  • Soiled clothes are bagged and sent home.

  • Clean clothes are used (child’s own or extra provided by the school).

  • Both the child and staff wash hands afterward.
